Fund for Capacity-Building

The Fund for Capacity-Building supports technical assistance activities provided to the Foundation’s grantees. For the duration of the grant period each grantee receives formal in-house training of their leadership and staff and has access to continuous ad-hoc guidance and coaching over the Internet and telephone.

The Fund for Capacity-Building is central in the Foundation’s strategy for the sustainability of its social investments. The Foundation’s success and significant impact depends on its grantee’s ability to:

• Manage invested resources effectively and efficiently;


• Understand the scenario in which they operate;


• Interact with various sectors (business, government and other NGOs) to mobilize local resources;


• Take part in social networks;


• Influence public policy.

The Foundation understands that most social organizations in the Brazilian Sertão have difficulties in securing partnerships, assessing and communicating program results and identifying opportunities and threats in their environment, etc.

In response to that need the Bravo Youth Foundation provides technical assistance and coaching on:

• Strategic planning;


• Management;


• Financial Management;


• Monitoring and evaluation;


• Strategic Communication;


• Long-term planning and fundraising;


• Effective networking.

Technical assistance consists of a process of continuous help. Entities have access to online educational materials and tools and have access to Rummo’s program specialists in Brazil.
